First Frost
Made in memory of my Mom. I gathered leaves from my parent's yard , & from trees I played in as a child on Frost Street, in Muskegon, Michigan. Maple leaves, & burning bush (I remember when Mom planted it), pine, sassafrass, & the oak tree in the front yard that I used to climb. Border leaves were patterned from actual leaves. Elm leaves were from a tree that mom had transplanted from Greatgrandma's yard. The images of blue on brown are from Laying leaves on chemically treated fabric to make it light sensitive & exposing it to sunlight. It was then rinsed in a baking soda solution to stop the reaction & get the brown color.
